Responsibilities of the Position
- Supports the Legal and Compliance teams by actively contributing to Wayspring’s mission of maintaining continuous compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, particularly those impacting healthcare and behavioral health services. Your efforts help uphold the integrity and legality of our care delivery model.
- Monitors and oversees state and federal regulatory requirements that directly affect the daily operations of our clinics, ensuring that every clinical activity remains aligned with legal standards and best practices.
- Leads licensure audits conducted by state regulatory agencies and health plan partners, ensuring full preparedness, transparency, and adherence to licensure standards across all sites of care.
- Owns the credentialing and recredentialing processes for all providers delivering substance use disorder and related healthcare services at Wayspring, performing comprehensive primary source verification while ensuring strict compliance with internal policies and external regulatory guidelines.
- Completes and manages provider credentialing and recredentialing applications, proactively monitor application statuses, follow up with necessary parties, and ensure that all providers are successfully credentialed with relevant health plans to support timely access to care.
- Ensures timely renewal of licenses and certifications for all clinics, providers, and clinical staff, playing a critical role in maintaining uninterrupted, compliant operations.
- Supports Wayspring’s adherence to privacy regulations, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and 42 CFR Part 2, helping safeguard sensitive patient information in accordance with federal law.
- Oversees project timelines, budgets, and scope, ensuring all assigned projects are completed efficiently and effectively; identify and escalate concerns while proposing actionable solutions in a timely and professional manner.
- Coordinates internal resources and stakeholders by creating detailed project plans, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring all deliverables and documentation are accurate and aligned with strategic objectives.
- Maintains a strong working knowledge of company policies, procedures, and strategic plans, ensuring that actions and decisions reflect organizational goals and compliance expectations.
- Communicates clearly and professionally with external partners, clients, and internal team members, facilitating smooth collaboration and the successful completion of legal, compliance, and operational initiatives.
- Completes special projects as assigned, applying your expertise and adaptability to meet evolving organizational needs and priorities.
- Assists in the development and review of internal policies and procedures, contributing to a robust and responsive compliance infrastructure that supports both regulatory adherence and operational excellence.
Requirements and Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5 years of healthcare with knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, credentialing, and multistate regulatory licensing, at least 2 years of experience in provider credentialing is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in paralegal studies); graduate degree in legal studies, healthcare compliance, or healthcare administration is preferred
- Proficient in HIPAA regulations and healthcare privacy laws
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and online research tools
- Familiar with project management principles and concepts
- Able to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Demonstrates urgency in completing both planned and unplanned tasks efficiently
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality and discretion
