About the Role:
We are seeking a strategic and technically adept Engineering Manager to lead our Data QA team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our data pipelines, platforms, and analytics systems. The ideal candidate will combine deep QA expertise with strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills to drive continuous improvement and innovation in data quality practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
• Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers focused on data validation, automation, and process optimization
• Define and execute the QA strategy for data products, ensuring alignment with engineering and business goals
• Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous learning
Technical Execution
• Oversee the development and maintenance of automated testing frameworks for data pipelines and ETL processes
• Ensure robust data quality checks, anomaly detection, and validation mechanisms across systems
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics, and Product teams to define test plans and acceptance criteria
Process & Efficiency
• Drive improvements in QA processes, tools, and metrics to enhance team productivity and product reliability
• Implement best practices in test automation, CI/CD integration, and agile methodologies
• Manage defect tracking, root cause analysis, and resolution workflows
Stakeholder Collaboration
• Act as a key liaison between QA, engineering, and business stakeholders to prioritize testing efforts and ensure timely delivery
• Communicate risks, progress, and quality metrics to leadership and cross functional teams. Qualifications
• Proven experience managing QA teams, preferably in data-centric environments
• Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, ETL workflows, and big data technologies
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools, scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL), and QA frameworks
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
